A place for what you know.

Itakua is a shared brain for you and your agents. Notes and documents in one order, under rules you both follow, within reach wherever either of you is working.

itakua.app Drag anything. What belongs to it comes along.

Notes
Plain files in your folder. They sync your way, open in the Reader on your phone, and reach any agent you allow.
Documents
Files you keep in Google Drive. They sit beside your notes on your computer, and open from a link everywhere else.

Notes and Drivenotes/ docs/drive/

One map for your notes and your Drive.

Much of what you know is not text. It is a PDF, a recording, a sheet someone shared with you. Those can stay in Google Drive. Your brain is split into spaces, one for each part of your life, and a space can link to the Drive folder that holds its documents.

Your notes can be distilled from those documents, and they reference them. An agent reads the homework from your teacher or the quote from the roofer, proposes what belongs in your notes, and links each line back to the file it came from.

And they are still Drive documents. Share one with anyone and work on it together, while your own notes on it stay in your folder. An agent changes a shared document only when you approve it.

Four places, each with its own job.

A brain is a folder of spaces: a French class, the house, a project at work. Notes and logs are always there; a space can also have documents and an inbox, each with its own job.

A space starts with a README, a few lines in your words about what it is for. An agent reads it before it touches anything.

So you and your agents know where something goes before opening the folder. A space can hold smaller ones with the same shape. Any other folder you make is yours, and agents leave it alone.

Logs keep what happened. Agents distill them into notes, with your approval.

Captureinbox/

A system that works for both of you.

Itakua is your notes, and it is your agents' memory. Same folder, same files. What you write, they know. What they do, you can see.

For you, that means notes that stay in order. Everything has a place, so you can find it later and trust it when you do. For your agents, it means starting from what you already know instead of a blank page.

Record a class, save a file, or write down a thought. Put it in the inbox and it waits. Nothing processes it on its own.

When you ask, an agent reads the item, writes the log entry and proposes a change to your notes. Automation proposes. You decide.

Sync~/brain

It is a folder. Sync it your way.

Itakua does not move your files. Keep the brain in iCloud Drive, in Dropbox, in Git, or on whatever already carries your folders between devices.

Text and documents travel separately. Notes and logs go wherever the folder goes. When a space uses Drive for recordings, PDFs or slides, those files stay there and your notes link to them.

Each space's README travels with the folder, so an agent on another machine starts from the same instructions.

  • iCloud DriveYour Apple devices carry the folder.

  • DropboxThe same folder on every computer.

  • GitEvery change kept, on a remote you own.

  • SyncthingDevice to device, with no cloud in between.

  • Obsidian SyncIf the brain is your vault, its sync carries it.

  • Something elseOneDrive, Google Drive, or anything that syncs a folder.

~/brainPlain text is small. It syncs anywhere.

Readerread search edit

Read it anywhere.

The Reader opens your brain on a phone or in any browser. Search every note, pick up where you left off, fix a line while you wait for the bus.

Each note says where it lives and when it last synced. A link to another note and a link to a document look different, because they are different things.

Prefer Obsidian? Every brain is already a valid vault. Open the same folder there and keep your plugins.

MCPlist_spaces search_notes read_note

Every agent reads what you allow.

One socket serves the same brain to each agent you use, at your desk or on your phone. You choose which spaces it serves.

An agent sees only the notes and READMEs in the spaces you serve. It does not see logs, the inbox, documents or other spaces; hidden spaces do not appear in results.

It is read-only. An agent can offer you text. The brain changes only through you.

Marketplaceel-sapo/itakua

Install it where your agents work.

Without the plugin, an agent guesses how your folder works from whatever it happens to see. With it, every agent starts from the same rules.

It ships as one plugin with two skills. Add the marketplace once, and the same two load in Claude and in Codex.

What the plugin does

  • Files things where they belongBefore it writes, the agent reads the space's README and puts each thing in its place.
  • Asks before it changes what you knowNotes, READMEs and documents change only with your approval. The log is only ever added to.
  • Checks the brainOn request it names anything out of place, any log entry nobody has turned into notes, and any file that lives on one machine only.
  • Starts a brain and moves itIt creates a new brain from nothing, and gets an existing one working on another computer without redoing the setup by hand.
itakua-map itakua-setupThe rules live in the agent, so every brain follows the same ones.
